Federal regulations prohibit discrimination against certain protected classes. State and local requirements, as well as The Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura policies, can prohibit discrimination against additional classes of people.

The Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura shall not discriminate because of race, color, sex, religion, familial status, age, disability or national origin (called “protected classes”). Familial status includes children under the age of 18 living with parents or legal custodians, pregnant women, and people securing custody of children under the age of 18.
