Low Rent Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public housing comes in all sizes and types.

The Area Housing Authority’s public housing complexes are well-designed, well-lit, and attractive buildings that are indistinguishable from other market rate apartments. Typical amenities include laundry facilities, community rooms, off-street parking, and ample play areas in our family sites.

The Resident Services program provides valuable information to senior and family households regarding local activities and resources, health and insurance information, along with recreational and educational activities.
