The Summer Street Apartments are owned and managed by the Area Housing Authority. A small, quiet complex, the Summer Street Apartments are centrally located along the city’s main transit routes and within walking distance to the downtown corridor.
Built around 1970 and purchased by the Area Housing Authority in 2002, this project is a demonstration of multi-agency cooperation. With $200,000 in initial funding from the City of Ojai, the Area Housing Authority was able to secure the additional financing through tax-exempt notes.
In addition, the units are restricted to residents whose income does not exceed 80% of the area median income.
