Florence Janss was one of the first senior affordable housing complexes to be developed in Thousand Oaks. This senior low-rent public housing complex is centrally located on Brazil Street with easy access to shopping and medical services. The complex consists of sixty-three 1-bedroom and one 2-bedroom apartments of which six units are handicapped accessible. The large community room is used to host resident meetings and events. In addition, there is an on-site manager who oversees administrative functions.
Funding for construction was provided through HUD, as is the funding for on-going maintenance and resident services. Construction costs for this property exceeded $4.8 million
