Housing Programs
There are three types of housing programs offered by the Area Housing Authority:
Section 8 Voucher Program - Rent assistance payments to private landlords.
Low Rent Public Housing - Housing units built with HUD assistance and owned by the AHA. Locally Owned Housing - Housing units obtained without federal funding and operated locally without federal constraints.
Each type of housing program has a waiting list associated with it. Presently, all waiting lists are closed, except Locally Owned properties.
Each jurisdiction is allowed to establish Local Preferences for assisting housing applicants. Click here to view the Local Preferences established by the Area Housing Authority of Ventura County.
